On my first visit to Woo399, I was equally impressed. The staff exhibited genuine warmth and attentiveness, complementing the clean and thoughtfully designed layout of the venue. I found the wagyu tips to be exceptionally tender, practically melting in the mouth. Meanwhile, the fried chicken was crisp, juicy, and an absolute crowd-pleaser. The pasta salad was a delightful surprise, and paired with their plum green tea, it created a beautifully balanced meal.
A standout feature of Woo399 is its ventilation system, allowing for a pleasant atmosphere without lingering BBQ odors—a massive plus for any grilling enthusiast. Parttimepiggy notes the reasonable pricing for the quality offered, with wagyu available for $15 to $25 per 150g, making it a justified splurge.

“ This Korean barbecue restaurant serves up an entire range of premium meats all the way up to A5 wagyu It focuses on a unique self serve concept where you pick your meat and pay for it before heading to your table. I think the meats are a little bit more on the pricier side (wagyu beef price range is between $15 to $25 per 150g) but it is justified given how good the quality is! Also a huge bonus - the ventilation in this restaurant is excellent I didn’t walk out smelling like BBQ which was a massive tick in my books. Definitely worth checking out ”
“ I'm a fan of the concept. Choose your meats of various qualities and grill it yourself. Woo399 excelled in providing amazing meats and options, such as the tartare, which was delicious. The only drawbacks were the banchan, which you have to pay extra for, and our inability to grab any waiters' attention for some damn service. Our grill was also faulty, where it was tough for us to kick start it one. Docked one star for these. Nevertheless, I still loved the quality of meats and grab your own supermarket style concept. ”
“ Visited Woo399BBQ on Lonsdale Street, and I was impressed! This new spot is spacious, and I love that you get to choose your own meat, which is vacuum-sealed. Perfect for taking home if you can’t finish everything. The wagyu ox tongue here is some of the freshest and highest quality I’ve tried, it was thick, tender, and naturally tasty. Their scallops are also a must-order, huge and incredibly fresh, which is hard to come by nowadays. Definitely worth checking out for a premium BBQ experience! ”
“ I visited Woo399 Korean restaurant tonight, for the first time. I received 5 complimentary side dishes with my Wagyu dish and was offered another round of complimentary dishes when I had finished. Exceptional quality of food and service with fully renovated new restaurant inside with new tables and seating. Nice background music… ”
“ Great prices, amazing food! Definitely great for groups. I usually take photos of the food for reviews but I was so wrapped up in how good it was I forgot, so you can see the remaining onions at least lol. Absolutely coming back with friends and family! ”
“ We like this place, the meat is halal, great atmosphere and very kind staff, especially Dara, who patiently helped us cooking the meat for us, otherwise we might burn it . Unlike other Korean BBQ in town, this place is a great for having deep conversation or a fun night. Relax atmosphere and not too hectic. Thanks Dara for your kindness and hospitality and explaining to us about the Korean food and how to enjoy it to the next level. ”
“ First time I've eaten here and I know I want to come back. The staff were lovely, friendly and informative, and the restaurant is clean and well laid out. The wagyu tips were melt in the mouth and the fried chicken was so crisp and juicy. If I'd realised how good the pasta salad was earlier on I'd have kept asking for it on repeat - I would honestly come again *just* to have more of it. Highly recommend the plum green tea - not too sweet but perfectly balanced and refreshing. A great korean bbq right in the heart of the city. ”
